Clairikine Hits Lyon - Part 2 of 4
* Frank Underwood: "You've got quite a long list of hobbies."
I have very patient friends, bless them. (Also, did I mention I've seen Fury Road three times this summer? Best 26€ I ever spent.)

Clairikine Hits Lyon - Part 1 of 4
Hey folks! For the next month I will be posting pages from my new travel comic Clairikine Hits Lyon, which I drew during my week-long visit back in August. A new instalment will be posted every week. Enjoy!

Analog Living
I don't always go a week without Internet at the house, but when I do, I flip my lid.
Remember this drawing about the woods? It is now a postcard that is available in my Bigcartel store! Along with many fine comics.
Also - do you live in Berlin? Want to get pointers on making your own comic? Want to chill in a fine Neukölln location while doing so? Then I cordially invite you to my next comics workshop (in English!) on Saturday, October 24 at raum B. Let's make comics together!

* It does a person good to go home from time to time! (You get to choose in which direction that might be.) Thanks to everyone who housed me for a few days in Lyon, bought me drinks and sponsored my food comas.

Fact vs. Fiction
Good news! There are actually many things one can do about the world being a bad place sometimes, even if feelings of helplessness won't tell you that.
Very specifically, if you live in Berlin, Finding Berlin has a good list (in English!) of ways to help refugees currently seeking asylum in our city. It may feel daunting, or it may not seem like much, but a little goes a very long way.
I myself am currently in France, where it is a pleasant not-above-27 degrees, and will catch you all on the flipside (i.e. next week).

Narcolepsie
English translation below.
BETON comes out about three times a year; each issue has its own word as a theme, and the comics are printed in both French and German. For the good of my English-speaking public, I have included a translation of my entry below the cut.
This comic is reproduced here with kind permission; you can get your hands on the whole 56-page deal for 7€ + shipping by e-mailing betonfanzine at gmail. You can also check out their Facebook page and follow them on Tumblr!

The cycle
You can tell I penciled this last winter, because it's too muggy these days to wear long sleeves in public transit.
***
Speaking of bridges, I was interviewed recently by Odile for Die Berliner Portraits and it partly involved that bridge on the bottom left! The transcript is exclusively in German, I'm afraid, but you get to see a great photo of me in front of the Oberbaumbrücke, which is one of my favorite locations in Berlin.
Also, it's Bastille day, so: happy 14th of July. I am spending it at a) the hair salon b) band practice c) a bar d) all of the above.

Grief, Part 2
If you're in Berlin this weekend, be sure to stop by the Expat Markt off Mehringdamm this Sunday! I will be tabling there from 12PM to 6PM and selling comics, postcards and doing small commissions. Come by! Bring your hangovers.

Mystery Coffee
Chew is a comic about a cop who gets information about things by eating them. It takes place in a near future where chicken is outlawed. It is amazing. (Also, I'm currently only on volume four, so - shhh.)

Productive
Yep sorry the emo comics just keep coming.
Speaking of productive, I'm hard at work on penciling, inking and translating the final pages for Master of Survival! I will be doing this as well during my trip to Lyon in ten days, towards which you can donate! You can also donate towards my trip to the UK for Thought Bubble, where I aim to have Master of Survival #2 all fresh and shiny. Just click on the Traveling Tip Jar logo on the sidebar, there.

Stop and Listen
I did a rough version of this comic for OFF LIFE'S #QuickDraw challenge a few weeks ago; I liked the suggested theme a lot. It was relevant.

Also, hot dang, I got some shiny new postcards! These will be sent out to readers who donate 5€ via the Traveling Tip Jar towards my upcoming trips to Lyon, London, Leeds and California (sadly I'm not going anyplace in California that starts with L, at least not on purpose). There are also sketches and even personalized avatars available! Preorders for my Lyon trip will close October 15.

To be continued...
Readers! Back in May I was given the opportunity by a generous fan to attend two days of this year's re:publica conference, which by and large is my favorite conference to attend in Berlin. As a way of giving back and documenting my time there, I drew this comic, as well as a bunch of sketches that I will be posting too.
Day 2 (which was Day 3 of the conference) will follow next week!

"Both"
This week's post is actually a kindly authorized repost of a piece currently featured on the blog of Heimat Zine, who were my lovely table neighbors at last year's Zinefest Berlin. It was drawn in response to a prompt on the theme of secrecy. More info on this piece can be found over here!
More comics coming soon. In the meantime, I do occasional updates on my goings-on via my Patreon feed, which can be accessed by throwing a mere $1 at me whenever I post a new comic. I get to buy more Oreos, you get to see which episode of Orange Is The New Black I'm on, everyone wins.

Proposals
I was going to post this last week, then I got sidetracked by current events.
The wedding was all kinds of awesome! Now my friends, they are married. Crazy! And there was chicken for breakfast on Sunday. What a world!
I'm off to Stockholm tomorrow! See you when I get back.
