Hourly Comics Day 2024 minus three

I didn't have time on February 1 this year, so I drew these a few days early. Enjoy!

A black-and-white comic. First panel: 00:00, Claire scrolls the website "wiewardertatort.de" (how was the Tatort) on their couch. The answer is 4 out of 10, which is fair 00:30 - 1:00 lie awake 8:00 up and scrolling phone on the couch again 9:00 make egg. A soft-boiled egg cooks on the stove while "if you're gonna go then go but go with caution" plays (lyrics are from Alkaline Trio's "Shake With Me" 10:00 breakfast - Claire, in a plaid shirt, eats from a tray on the couch with two glasses on another tray beside them. Dialogue comes from the big-screen television: "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!" "Giiirrrrl!" 11:00 laundry, Zelda, podcast - Link stands on a large tree root in the dark, with a barrel fused to a stick hanging off his shoulder. Something like a lantern shining off in the distance. A caption says "I live for this shit"


12:30 Fresh air - Claire walks outside in a coat with a scarf and wind blowing around them, with the caption "getting warmer out there" 13:00 try to fill out dating app profile - Claire sits on a bench frowning as she stares into her phone Claire leans back against the bench in frustration with her eyes squeezed shut and says "Uuuughhh" 13:45 Leftovers lunch: chicken, rice, Kaisergemüse (assorted vegetables) and oikimchi all arranged on a plate Claire is eating. Caption says: Why are birthdays so laden with feelings? (With "We Can Do Hard Things"). A small Bluetooth speaker says "Expectations and comparison and existential dread" (Glennon Doyle) 14:15 Doze on and off for 30 minutes - Claire lies on her back under a blanket on the couch with her glasses on and eyes closed
15:00 email and admin stuff: Claire sits in front of her desk wearing a plaid shirt. A caption points to her desk chair saying "supporting actor in the comic I'm currently drawing" 15:30 stretches: Claire stretches her right arm behind her back while a song plays with the lyrics "I'm only terrified when you're letting go" - it's Alkaline Trio's "Shake With Me" again 15:45 write for 40 mins, bless the daylight that is still around: the panel shows a sheaf of paper with notes, a large screen with a doc open in it, and a keyboard 16:40 time 2 pencil: Claire sits at her desk, which is now in drawing-board mode, with her tongue sticking out and "Depresh Mode" playing from a Bluetooth speaker 18:45 A realization. Claire raises her eyebrows in surprise while staring down at her drawing board and says "Holy shit." Claire pulls up her comics pages to look at them while lines indicate that the pages are shining, and says "I think I leveled up just by reading more comics." A caption says "(and more varied kinds!)" A caption next to the panel says READ MORE COMICS
19:00 watch cat video that Amé sent me - the video is of a cat wooshing down a snowy hill on a snowboard 19:45 microwaved pizza dinner for too long - we see a couple pieces of pizza on a plate with oozing cheese on them and squiggly lines all around the plate. A speech bubble emanating from the pizza says "i have transcended the laws of physics" 20:30 groceries time. Claire is at the store, wearing a mask and listening to the "Stadio" episode on the Jürgen Klopp announcement while holding a container and thinking to themself "why TF are tomatoes, i mean, is everything so [expletive] expensive" 21:30 finish podcast, more TOTK - we see Link standing on a platform in the sky surrounded by tiny islands and a cloud, with OMG SO MUCH SUN written in the sky in large letters 22:00 Dishes and getting ready for bed - Claire does dishes while listening to Kraftklub's "Chemie Chemie Ya", with the lyrics "and no night for anybody, no night for me" showing in German. 22:45 Claire scrolls, scrolls, scrolls her phone some more on the couch. 23:25 draw and reread hourlies - Claire is lying under the blanket in bed, drawing in her notebook with the lyrics "I should be under your spell right now, your spell right now" as an earworm in her head. They are from "Bad Time" by - you guessed it - Alkaline Trio. 23:30 go through notes for comic script - we see Claire from the front, holding a pen over a piece of paper with notes, smiling tiredly at the camera and saying "OK time to read and sleep now goodnite"

23:25 draw and reread hourlies - Claire is lying under the blanket in bed, drawing in her notebook with the lyrics "I should be under your spell right now, your spell right now" as an earworm in her head. They are from "Bad Time" by - you guessed it - Alkaline Trio. 23:30 go through notes for comic script - we see Claire from the front, holding a pen over a piece of paper with notes, smiling tiredly at the camera and saying "OK time to read and sleep now goodnite"
