Hourly Comics Day 2024 minus three

I didn't have time on February 1 this year, so I drew these a few days early. Enjoy!

A black-and-white comic. First panel: 00:00, Claire scrolls the website "wiewardertatort.de" (how was the Tatort) on their couch. The answer is 4 out of 10, which is fair 00:30 - 1:00 lie awake 8:00 up and scrolling phone on the couch again 9:00 make egg. A soft-boiled egg cooks on the stove while "if you're gonna go then go but go with caution" plays (lyrics are from Alkaline Trio's "Shake With Me" 10:00 breakfast - Claire, in a plaid shirt, eats from a tray on the couch with two glasses on another tray beside them. Dialogue comes from the big-screen television: "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!" "Giiirrrrl!" 11:00 laundry, Zelda, podcast - Link stands on a large tree root in the dark, with a barrel fused to a stick hanging off his shoulder. Walls

Clairikine + HX hit ComicInvasion 2022

ComicInvasion 2023 is nigh, so here are some comics chronicling my weekend at CIB22 in the presence of HX and friends! That's kickass festival director Lara demonstrating leadership in action in the final panels.

Status Report

A year ago Still Jealous was released, a re-recording of Tegan and Sara's classic So Jealous album where each recorded their own own version of the other's songs. I of course made some fanart for it because these songs still resonated with me like nothing else does, 15+ years after I heard them for the first time. Also this week I believe there was an international holiday, something to do with hearts?

I will be exhibiting original pages from my comic written and penciled during the 2019 edition, and selling the brand-new zine of that comic!! Hourly Comics Day 2023

00:00 Awake with fox plushie. 00:30 asleep with fox plushie. 7:00 Snooze my phone saying to wake up wake up wake up wake up. 8:00 up, shower listening to Tegan and Sara singing "I should start working on myself again". 8:30 breakfast with toast, lachs and a rapid test for work. Listening to news radio was a mistake.

An Intro to Berlin Bike Path Typology (Berliner Comic Fenster 2022)

I submitted this comic for this year's season of the Berliner Comic Fenster program, through which local cartoonists get to have their comics aired on Berlin's subway TV in partnership with Comic Invasion! If you were on the U-Bahn last weekend, you may have seen it aired.

How Autobio Cartoonists Socialize

A four-panel black and white comic. In the first panel, HX and Claire are hanging out outside at night drinking a 0% beer and a glass of Rotkäppchen, respectively. Claire says "The last hangover I had was after I drank 33cl of this." HX says "Haha, Rotkäppchen is the mind-killer." Lex and Sondra return! I drew this for Comic Invasion Berlin's Queer Movie Night, featuring a queer comics exhibit and a screening of the documentary No Straight Lines.
